A young man comes to Jesus seeking the key to eternal life, based on Matthew 19:16-30, Mark 10:17-31, and Luke 18:18-30.

“What is the key to eternal life?” a young man asks Jesus. Jesus responds with a question to him, “Do you follow the commandments?” The man was arrogant and felt he had done good all his life, but Jesus told him that wealth was holding him back from reaching heaven’s doors. We must reject earthly things and our selfishness and live for the Lord in order to receive heavenly treasures.
