002, The Girl (75mm scale)
This 1/35 scale kit inherits the excellent foundational features of Dragon’s model of a WWII American M3 halftrack. However, it has been suitably modified to represent an Israeli M3 in the period of the Six-Day War. For example, there is a new machine gun mount above the front windscreen armor. A typical characteristic of Israeli halftracks was the mass of backpacks and kit stowed on and dangling off the sides of vehicles. This flurry of equipment is perfectly captured with a range of kit accessories made from DS, the ideal material to make such items from. This is a highly detailed and realistic model of an M3 halftrack fighting during the bitterly contested Six-Day War. Indeed, because such halftracks were used long before and after the 1967 conflict, this kit offers enormous modeling versatility too. It will definitely benefit any collection and will whet modelers appetites for even more Israeli subjects from Dragon’s Six-Day War collection!
The new rendition of the Vollkettenaufklaerer 38 w/7.5cm Kanone 51 L/24 is wisely based on Dragon’s recently released and highly accurate Hetzer-based kits, including their modified wheels and upper hull. To create this novel vehicle, the kit incorporates brand new elements such as a retooled fighting compartment with true-to-scale armored sides. There is a new stowage rack on the front of the hull, and another on the left-hand side of the hull, adjacent to a new antenna base. On the glacis plate, there is a new driver’s vision port, hatch and headlight. Parts to depict the complete 7.5cm 24-caliber Kanone 51 gun are obviously included. The final result is a fascinating, attractive and little-known member of the Hetzer family. While it may not have entered production in WWII, Dragon has made it incredibly easy for modelers to produce their very own Hetzer scout vehicle.
Hot on the wheels of the popular StuG.III Ausf.E comes this magnificent kit. This 1/35 scale rendition boasts many new plastic parts. These include a new fighting compartment and roof, new fenders, final-drive hatches and glacis, side pannier for the radio set and angled side sponsons. There is even a brand new light guard for vehicles specific to the StuG.Abt.177 unit. Like the StuG.III Ausf.E (#6688), this new kit also contains a complete gun with its mount and fighting-compartment interior details. StuG. fans will find it a treat to assemble thanks to the kit’s superior level of detail and engineering excellence.

He also gave us the scoop on this brandy-new full kit that will blow your doors off:
This superbly detailed 1/35th scale model depicts the British Army FV1620 Truck, 1 ton, 4x4 “Hornet / Malkara” that was in service with the RAC Parachute Squadron between 1965 and 1969. The Malkara missile, named by its Australian developers, combined with this specialised armoured version of the Humber 1 Ton vehicle was intended to fulfill a requirement for an airportable anti tank guided missile (ATGM) system. The missile carried a 56lb HESH warhead capable of destroying all known armour of the time (and possibly even AFV’s in service today!) and could strike a moving target at ranges up to 2190m (Mk1) and 4030m (Mk2 depicted in this kit). The missile also had an anti-bunker/building capability.
This model kit features opening hatches on the top sides and rear revealing a fully detailed interior with the three crew positions, radios, small arms and the pair of stowed missiles in the rear. The missile arm has the option of 4 pre-set positions comprising; travel, loading, firing, and firing traversed to the left. The drivers and gunners visors can be opened and the sight rotated accordingly with the weapon system. Extensive, easy to use brass details and decal sheets are included along with full colour instructions. The model also has a roof mounted GPMG and related interior and exterior stowage plus tools and a trio of jerry cans in holders.
The master model was researched from multiple sources, and produced by Luke Davis with additional work and preparation for production by Rob Tearle. Many thanks also to Clive Elliot for his valuable assistance with this project.
