The German Wehrmacht relied heavily on captured vehicles to boost its motor pool, yet the small numbers of US- and Soviet-built field cars in German service - the Bantam BRC-40, Willys MB, Ford GPW and GAZ-64 'Beutewagen' - had never been documented in a monograph until now. After almost forty years of collecting, 118 contemporary in-service photographs of US and Soviet field cars in German Army use have been gathered to cover this previously uncharted story for the first time. Twelve artist's 3D impressions show their most fascinating German camouflage schemes and markings in colour. The wartime photographs are almost all previously unpublished and are set in a brief history of American, German and Soviet field cars of the Second World War, rounded out by technical walk-arounds and a colour section on preserved vehicles. 160 pages with 118 wartime Beutewagen photographs, 169 black-and-white photos, 58 colour photos of restored vehicles and 12 colour camouflage plates.
