An original U.S. Army instructional note from the Department of Artillery Transport, U.S. Army Artillery and Missile School, Fort Sill, Oklahoma: DAT 105, dated August 1959, superseding the July 1958 edition.

It sets out a systematic procedure for inspecting the 1/4-ton 4x4 utility trucks M38 and M38A1 then in service with artillery units, keyed item by item to DA Form 461 and working through the cab, the engine, underneath the vehicle and the exterior. Line illustrations show the inspection points, including the air cleaner and the engine compartment.
