The F-111, which despite a rocky start, ultimately proved to be a very capable fighter-bomber for the US and Australian Air Forces, was born out of Secretary of Defense Robert Strange McNamara's desire to compel the the US Navy and Air Force to use a single aircraft for all tactical missions.  Softbound, 80 pages.
