NEW AIRBRUSHES AND COMPRESSORS FROM SPARMAX!

Information courtesy of The Airbrush Company of the UK

The Sparmax ARISM Mini compressor represents a new generation of compressors, providing more power within a smaller unit. Reliable and functionally versatile, this innovative model exceeds the performance of similar sized compressors. The ARISM Mini is a powerful and compact compressor; designed for workbench applications whilst saving the user space. As a smaller unit, it was also designed to be highly portable, for use on-the-go and easy to store. In keeping with its compact nature, the ARISM Mini also has a built-in airbrush holder on its handle. This is the quintessential compact compressor for all ages and experience levels, and is available in 8 colour options.

The Sparmax ARISM compressor represents a new generation of compressors, providing more power within a smaller unit. Reliable and functionally versatile, this innovative model exceeds the performance of similar sized compressors. With the bonus of an automatic on/off switch, this compressor automatically turns on when you press your airbrush trigger, providing instant air, and turns the compressor off again when the airbrush is not in use. It also includes a Silver Bullet moisture trap (designed to remove water before it reaches your airbrush). It is aimed at beginners through to professional airbrush users who seek excellent quality, within a budget.

The Sparmax MAX-4 airbrush provides exceptional performance with even the smallest compressors because it atomises well at low pressures. It has a 0.4mm needle and nozzle combination, ideal when spraying thicker or heavier paints whilst still obtaining a fine level of detail. It is a dual-action airbrush but can be easily converted to a Single-action airbrush with the single-action air valve that is included. It also features a pre-set handle which limits the colour flow to avoid over-shooting, plus a crown cap allowing you to get closer to your work and thus achieve finer detail, whilst still protecting the needle.

Also available with a 0.3mm needle and nozzle combination – The Sparmax MAX-3 airbrush

The Sparmax ARISM Mini Kit includes:

Forgotten Archives 1: A great new title from Panzerwrecks Publishing

We just got this title in the mail yesterday. Everyone at the office really dug the photos! It looks like a great source of inspiration for modeling.

240 Pages, 266 Photos

By Darren Neely

Most photos are U.S. and knocked-out/ captured German hardware. We did see one really good shot of a British Firefly. There is some coverage of Normandy in here but the majority of the photos are from later in the Northwest Europe Campaign.

Here is a chapter list:

  • Breakout and to the German Border
  • From the Patton Museum - Through the lens of an Ordnance Officer
  • Bogged Down
  • Ardennes - Bloodied and Counterattack
  • Ardennes - Through the lens of Lt. Joseph Zinni
  • Alsace, Germany and the End

We have reached the 15th book in the “Scale Model Handbook” series where, since the first book we have presented lots of information, tips and techniques about modelling miniature figures. This time we’ve gathered seven articles from seven well-known artists from around the World.

Four of them are covered in great detail with lots of step-by-step photos, which help the reader to follow different techniques about painting, sculpting, converting and making those unique scenic bases.

We’re pleased to welcome a new contributor to this edition, Stelios Neofytidis, who painted a Private of the 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders, “Le Cateau” 1914 from Tommy’s War 54mm Figure Series.

So, what others do we have inside! A Michael Wittmann bust (our cover theme, and a bust as cover subject for first time since the series began) painted for box art by “The Master”, Man-Jin Kim. Next is a Captain of The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlander at Tel El Kebir 1882, painted for Victoria’s Heroes box art by Juanma Vergara; A Praetorian Guard 1st Century BC by Louis D’Orio and a Bear Clan Iroquois bust by Sergey Popovichenko.

A special and unique feature is Pietro Balloni’s article “Masterpieces in Masterclass Figure Gallery” with a lot of Pegaso Model’s “box arts” that reveal Pietro’s talents and achievements and, of course, his painting technique! Finally, “The Rhino” is a fantasy themed model by Javier Gonzalez (Arsies) with more than 40 step-by-step photos illustrating Javier’s sculpting and converting technique.
