Jesus tells the parable of trees bearing fruit to help explain His message as in Matthew 7:15-20 and Luke 6:43-45.

Many times in the New Testament, Jesus uses parables to explain to crowds what He means. In this story, Jesus talks about trees and fruit: bad trees can’t produce good fruit and good trees can’t bear bad fruit. Just like trees, people need to cultivate good and righteous values in themselves to do good in the world. The ultimate good is believing in Jesus, praying for forgiveness, and living as Jesus lived.
