Jesus surprises His friends when He rises from the dead on Easter morning, like in John 20:1-20, Matthew 27:45, 54, 65; 28:2-4, Mark 15:39, and Luke 24:3-4, 36-37.

When Jesus rose on Easter morning, He surprised a lot of people who assumed he was dead. He surprised the soldiers when the stone was rolled away, He surprised the women who went to visit the tomb, and He surprised the disciples when He appeared to them at night. For us, death doesn’t have to be a surprise because we know that Jesus conquered death.
